John had to leave school and to look for a job because of the sudden death of his father. His father left behind a sick mother, an old aunt and two little sisters. John first worked as a telephone operator in a toy company, but he found out that it was very boring. He kept sitting all the time. His second job was in a car factory and the trouble was that he had to do the same things day after day. Then, he decided that he would work out of doors and got a job as a gardener in one of the London’s many parks.
He now works much harder than he did in the company or at the factory, but his work is more varied. There are four seasons in a year and each has its own jobs for a gardener. He works hardest in autumn and winter keeping the park tidy and preparing for spring and summer. He sows the seeds, waters the flowers and feeds the ducks.
In summer he can relax and feel proud because he has helped to make the park so beautiful. Many office workers come there every day to eat their lunchtime sandwiches. They exchange funny stories and jokes. Really, John’s work at the park is very interesting.

Coffee, as we all know, is part of our Arab tradition. In restaurants and coffee-shops, drinking coffee is a simple way to relax. People drink coffee so that they can keep awake. Read the following passage and then answer the questions below:
In many countries today, a difficult question is being asked: Do we have the right to use animals in laboratory experiments? Using animals in medical research to develop treatments for many diseases, such as heart diseases. It would not have been possible to develop vaccines for diseases like smallpox without animal research. Every drug anyone takes today was tried first on animals which is more important, the life of a rat or that of a three year old child? Medical research is also an excellent way of using unwanted animals. Last year over twelve million animals had to be killed because nobody wanted them as pets. The fact is that human benefit can not be used as a reason for using animals in research, any more than it can be used as a reason for experimenting on other humans. Animals suffering a lot during these experiments. They are forced to live in same cages and they may be unable to move.
Animals have the same rights as humans do, to be able to move freely and not to have pain pr fear forced on them. We use computer modeling instead of animals in research laboratories to save animals life.

Once a man took his wife out fishing. She was wearing a nice and a valuable watch. It was made of gold. While the wife was taking off her watch, it slipped out of her hand.
